Cellular Energy Supplements Help Your Body Fight the Effects of Aging

Cellular energy supplements, when taken in appropriate amounts, help every cell in the human body fight off many of the problems related to aging. Scientists now know that an important factor in aging is the decay of the mitochondria - the organelles within the cell that convert amino acids, fatty acids and sugars into energy. As we age, the efficiency of the mitochondria diminishes, as does their quantity per cell. Cellular energy supplements work against this process, keeping you feeling younger.

Mitochondria

In fact, the gradual loss of cellular energy with age is paralleled by a decrease in the number of mitochondria per cell, as well as the health and energy-producing efficiency of those remaining mitochondria. Well designed cellular energy supplements provide normal mitochondrial metabolites that have been shown in laboratory experiments to help maintain mitochondrial function as cells age. Providing the body with what it no longer sufficiently produces helps to maintain the membrane potential while promoting metabolism and healthy cell function. By promoting this type of cell health, cellular energy supplements also enhance the body's natural anti-oxidative protection.

The most compelling results of a recent study came from the Psychological General Well Being Index (PGWBI). The objective of this portion of the study was to assess subjective perceptions related to mood and general health. The PGWBI provides a total score, as well as scores on individual components of health and well being. The "Total Scores" of a majority of subjects were higher when taking quality cellular energy supplements than when they were on placebo. A majority also reported improved vitality and general health.

Some of the most interesting information has come from individual anecdotes. People have been reporting positive personal results from adding this new approach to regular diet and exercise program. This falls well in-line with the concept that more people today are more conscious of making healthy choices throughout their daily lives.

A recent survey showed that Americans overall seem to agree that taking preventive measures now can ensure good physical and mental health, contributing to longer and healthier lives. Nationwide, 74 percent of respondents feel that much of what affects their physical and mental health depends on what they do to take care of themselves. Regionally, 80 percent of survey respondents in the Northeast are more likely to subscribe to this line of thinking as compared to only 71 percent of respondents residing in Western states.

While research in this area is truly in its infancy, new studies will soon provide more information on helping individuals lead longer, healthier and happier lives.
